Unit No. 2
PROJECTION OF PLANES1) A thin regular pentagonal plate of 30 mm long edge has its edges in HP and perpendicular to VP, while its farthest corner is 30 mm above HP. Draw the projections of plate . Project another FV on an AVP making an angle of 45° with VP.

2) A circular plate of diameter AB 50 mm has its surface inclined 30°with HP.Draw its projections when A) Top view of diameter AB is inclined 45° with VP. B) Diameter AB is inclined 45° with VP.

3) An equilateral triangle ABC of side 50 mm is freely suspended from the point O on AB 10 mm from A. Draw its projections if surface is inclined at 45° with VP and point O is 60 mm above HP and 35 mm infront of VP.

4) The projections of a triangular plate PQR appears as under
Plan : pq makes 30° with xy line, TV qr = 95mm. the corner q is 5 mm in front of VP.
Elevation : p`q` = 80 mm,q`r` = 45 mm, r`p`=80 mm p’q’ makes an angle of 45° with xy line. The corner p of the plate is 5 mm above HP. Draw projection and determine true shape of triangular plate.

5) An isosceles triangle of base 40 mm and altitude 60 mm appears as an equilateral triangle of side 40 mm with one side inclined at 30 to XY in front view. Draw its projections.

5. A pentagonal prism is resting on a corner of its base on ground with a longer edge containing that corner inclined at 45° to HP and vertical plane containing that edge and the axis inclined at 30° to the VP. Draw its projections. Base 40 mm side and height 65 mm.
6. A cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and height 70 mm is resting on a point of periphery of base and axis is inclined 45° to VP. Draw the projections if FV of axis makes an angle of 30° with HP.
7. A hexagonal pyramid of edge of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm has its slant edge in VP and axis inclined at 45° to HP. Draw the projections.
8. A square pyramid base 40 mm side and axis 60 mm long is freely suspended from one of the corners of its base. Draw the projections, when the axis as a vertical plane makes an angle of 45° with the VP. Draw its three views.
9. A cube of 40 mm edge is resting on HP with its vertical faces equally inclined to VP. A pentagonal pyramid of 25 mm base edge and 45 mm height is resting centrally on top of the cube such that their axes coincide and one edge of the base of the pyramid is parallel to VP. Draw the projections when the axis of the combination is inclined at 25° to HP and parallel to VP.
